VA Clinic Construction Underway
Monday, December 15, 2014
Construction on the Major General William H. Gourley VA-DOD Outpatient Clinic is well underway at The Dunes. At the Topping-Out Ceremony on November 6th, the final structural steel beam was placed, and construction on the 146,000 square foot clinic continues to move along smoothly. The facility, which is expected to open in 2016, will be part of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.
Also known as the Monterey Joint Integrated VA-Department of the Army Health Care Center, the new three-story clinic will provided expanded services for approximately 80,000 Monterey County Veterans, Active Duty Service members and their families. Primary care and specialty care will be provided at the facility, including medical and surgical subspecialty clinics, mental health care, audiology, physical and occupation therapy, ancillary and diagnostic service. The clinic will replace the VA Palo Alto Health Care System’s existing clinic to meet the growing healthcare need for Veterans in the region.
